Tis’ summer season and our life amidst the hustle and the unforgiving humidity is being ruled by our cravings for a mug of chilled beer and any point of the day seems like the right time!

We’re craving for some beer-lovin’ and we’re sure you are too because we need no rhyme or reason to actually chug a pitcher, be it a Friday evening or a Monday noon. At the end of the day, always remember YOLO!

So keeping in mind the beery needs of the human heart, we have listed 3 places where you can enjoy your tipple but be cautious. These aren’t the places for your month-end budget because for that, you’ll just have to go with cans and the squad at home!

Gateway Taproom

Among the concrete jungle of BKC, the Gateway Taproom is a welcome sight with premier craft beers and plush interiors. With dark wood and exposed brick walls, this vintage hideaway is where you should be on a Saturday night or just for a casual hangout with colleagues after work.

Drawing inspirations from the culture of beer gardens of Europe, their menu combines international flavours with local ingredients and it acts a portal to the beer world! Their food and drinks are interwoven with culinary finesse and if confused on what to order, let us give you a heads up! Their various options of craft beers are all the rage here along with their Almond Cake, Stuffed Mushroom and Barley Risotto!

Crafters Tap House

The newest inclusion in the craft beer bandwagon, Crafters Tap House is seated on the second floor of Powai’s Haiko Mall. The beers on offer include a Pilsner, the smooth AF Hefeweizen and the Belgian Wit along with darker beers like a stout and a dark Pilsner. Apart from the beers, there is also a fine selection of Indian spirits worth trying and if you’re hungry, you won’t be disappointed.

For ardent craft brew lovers, they host their hoppy hours from 5-8 pm and they also have a 1+1 offer from 11 pm to 1 am. We loved their Peri Peri French Fries and Jerk Chicken which we washed down with their fresh and smooth craft beers!

The Irish House

A hit amidst the young crowd, The Irish House has an Irish décor with their delish grub, craft beers and upbeat music which pulls us all in like no other in the city.

Their newest space at BKC has a little garden and a wood-fire oven and the craft beers on tap includes brews from The White Owl, Drifter, Independence, and Erdinger! They also offer international beers which are presented by brew – lagers, ales, stouts, ciders or wheat. When hungry, go straight for the Pizzas, Burgers and Onion Rings and you’ll thank us later for it.

The Irish House has multiple outlets at BKC, Fort, Malad, Thane, Kurla, Lower Parel, and Bandra and no matter wherever you go, they leave no stone unturned to provide the best hospitality!

Surgery & casualty wards to soon become functional at South Goa District Hospital

Outpatient departments (OPDs) are already operational at the new South Goa District Hospital.

The multi-storied South Goa District Hospital (SGDH) is being upgraded with new facilities to lessen the load off older hospitals and health institutes. As per reports, the new hospital is likely to house the surgery and casualty departments soon in a bid to clear space at the Hospicio Hospital. Earlier also, all outpatient departments (OPDs) were relocated to the spacious new SGDH for the same reason.

Mumbai local trains to operate at 100% capacity from today!

The suburban train services were suspended on March 22, 2020 on account of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

After running restricted operations for over a year, Mumbai's local train services are all set to resume with 100% seating capacity from today. This is being done in order to account for the increased flow of commuters on the trains. Till now, the Central and Western Railways had been operating with 1,702 and 1,304 services respectively, which account for 95.75% of their total capacity. Today onwards, this number will go up to 1,774 in the CR division and 1,367 in WR, thus making complete use of the total capacity on the two lines.

This is the first time in the 30-year-old history of Khel Ratna that 2 players from the city are being conferred the award.

Two Paralympics players from Jaipur have been recommended for the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Award, the highest rank for sports in the country. Notably, this is the first in the 30 year-old-history of Khel Ratna that 2 sportsperson from the same city will be conferred with the award. The two nominated players are Avani Lekhara and Krishan Nagar, who bagged gold medals at the Tokyo Paralympics 2020.
