Aan, a 1952 Bollywood adventure movie was the first Indian movie to have a worldwide release. The first Bollywood movie to be shot in technicolour and the most expensive hindi movie of its time, Aan was mostly shot in Indore. Dilip Kumar's scenes at Lal Bagh palace and the famous song 'Dil Mein chupa ke...', with the late legend riding a chariot over Navlakha Bridge, make this film truly special for Indorians!


Released in 1977, Kinara showcases several scenes with various forts, tombs and palaces of Madhya Pradesh as the backdrop. A major chunk of this box office hit was shot in Mandu near Indore, which includes the first meeting of the lead pair, the song 'Naam Gum Jaega...' and Gulzar's famous afternoon scenes. Displaying local areas and the perfect native feels, the film transports you to Indore and its surroundings!


Released in 1991, Narsimha was shot extensively in Indore and the other attractive places in Madhya Pradesh. With an ensemble cast, the movie catered to the masses and brought simple landscapes of the city to the silver screen. While the plot is largely driven by the story, spotting Indore in the background is definitely delightful for the viewer!

Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya

Released in 1998, the movie Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya has two Indore connections. Apart from being shot in Indore, the film stars the Dabangg star Salman Khan, who is originally from Indore as well! The superstar turned into the nation's heartthrob overnight after the iconic 'O O Jane Jaana' song from this blockbuster movie. Interestingly, the college scenes of Salman and Kajol were shot at the Daly College in Indore.

Yamla Pagla Deewana 2

Sequal to the 2011 movie by the same name, Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 was shot largely in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Although the movie was set in Varanasi, the scenes of the city were actually shot near Indore owing to its cleaner locale. Amid the jokes and laughter fueled by this movie, you must not miss out on finding a known place in the background!

Singh Saab The Great

A multi-starrer directed by an award-winning director, 'Singh Saab The Great' was shot at multiple locations in Indore. Lal Bagh Palace, Chhappan Dukan, Mayank Blue Water Park, Regional Park, Super Corridor and the Rajwada were all used to shoot various scenes of this movie, that released in 2013.


A major chunk of the youth-centric film-Youngistaan was shot in the city of Indore. The first schedule of this film was shot in Indore and Lucknow while the second one was shot at the Taj Mahal in Agra. It gives a peek into the geographical and architectural shades of the city.


2015 movie Tevar brings to life the shaded landscape of Indore in some of its scenes, with great detail and perfection. The introductory song 'Radha Nachegi' shot at Maheshwar Ghat near Indore, features Sonakshi Sinha and Manoj Bajpayee amid the quintessential Indori vibes!


Bring a star-studded affair on screens, Kalank is a treat to the eyes and the picturesque shots of the royal Lal Bagh Palace amplify its appeal for the audience. Since the film was set in the pre-partition era, it required a location that could depict a similar time frame and the grandeur of this palace fitted the bill.

India registers over 2.8 lakh fresh COVID cases on Wednesday

With a recovery rate of 93.88%, 1,88,157 patients marked their recovery on Wednesday, taking the total tally to 3,55,83,039 recoveries in India

Registering a spike of more than 18% on the daily COVID figures of the previous day, India reported 2,82,970 fresh cases of coronavirus on Wednesday.
