When it comes to bracing the heat, Delhiites have it the worst. The city sees some of the hottest temperatures and even stepping out of an air conditioned room is nothing short of a major pain. Now, there seems to be good news for Delhiites because the Meteorological Department has stated that the national capital is highly likely to receive a few more days of rainfall- a much needed respite from the harsh sun.
As per reports from the Met department, the national capital will be on the receiving end of some gusty winds from the Himalayas and the more northern areas of the country. As of now, Delhi has a temperature of almost 40 degrees celsius, which makes functioning in the city a major chore. Though the public transport in Delhi has several air conditioned buses and trains, the rainfall will be the city’s salvation.
Delhi’s maximum temperature was recorded at 40.3 degree Celsius on Monday, which is normal for this time of the season. On the other hand, the minimum temperature, was recorded at 22.8 degree Celsius- four notches below normal. Not only will the rains provide a break from the summer sun, but also help in improving the AQI of the city as a whole.
Following this, officials from the meteorological department said that the maximum temperature is likely to linger around 40 degree Celsius for the next five days, with a spell of rain likely to occur in the next few days.
