Anyone who has lived in Delhi, or even stayed there for a couple of hours will tell you that the abysmal state of the traffic in the national capital is nothing short of a major cause of concern. For a long time now, the authorities in Delhi have been trying to tackle traffic in the city and have often succeeded. The latest method to tackle traffic issues and to streamline it, is to finally open the Rao Tula Ram flyover that had been under construction since the past few years.
The flyover is especially beneficial in areas where the traffic meets a massive choke point. This is usually caused by vehicles that are going towards IGI Airport and Gurugram.
Since there is a massive influx of people coming in from these areas, the route becomes rather jammed and wreaks havoc. The main feat of this flyover is that it is a three lane flyover, meaning that once you're on here, you can zip past traffic and get to your destination much faster.
The flyover itself starts around Munirka metro station and ends at R&R Hospital. Additionally, the flyover will reduce travel times to IGI and Gurugram by almost 15 minutes. As of now, cars and cabs have to make their way through a sea of traffic, which takes almost an hour for most commuters.
However, readers must note that there is no confirmation on the inauguration date of the flyover. The actual deadline for completion of work was June 30, but since there were issues that needed attention, the inaugurated was delayed.
Now that all the work is complete, we're expecting it to open sometime this month. As for the flyover itself, it is complete with sign boards, warning signs, road strips and everything you'd expect. The flyover has been delayed by a long time and the fact that it will finally open for the public is a great sigh of relief.
