After a gap of 614 years, Ahmedabad is set to witness the grand Bhadrakali Nagar Yatra on the 26th of February, coinciding with the city’s foundation day. The 6.25 km-long procession will begin from the historic Bhadrakali Temple and pass through key city landmarks before concluding at its original location.
The event is expected to be on the scale of the city’s famous Jagannath Yatra, drawing large crowds and elaborate celebrations.

The procession will begin from Bhadrakali Temple and pass through key city landmarks, including Three Darwaza, Guru Maneknathji Samadhi Sthal, Manek Chowk, Daanapith, Ahmedabad Municipal Office, Khamasa, Pagathiya, Jamalpur Darwaza, and Jagannath Temple, before concluding at its original location at Bhadrakali Temple. The temple is said to have a rich history dating back a thousand years and has been a prominent landmark of the city.
The event will feature decorated chariots, cultural performances, and traditional processions, making it a visually captivating experience for the people of Ahmedabad. Several prominent locations along the route will host welcoming ceremonies as the yatra passes through the city.
Adding to the grandeur, the procession will include akhadas, elephants, camels, tableaux, musical groups, bhajan mandalis, and traditional displays that showcase the cultural vibrancy of the region.
