The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) has outlined the admission process for its renowned two-year MBA programme (Postgraduate Programme in Management) for the 2025-2027 batch. Aspiring candidates need to meet specific eligibility criteria and navigate a multi-stage selection process to secure a seat at this prestigious institution.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD categories) from a recognised institution. Those in the final year of their undergraduate program or awaiting results can also apply, provided they submit a certificate from their institution confirming their academic status.
Final admission for these candidates will depend on producing their degree certificates by the required date.
Selection Process
The selection process begins with the Common Admission Test (CAT) for domestic candidates and the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) for overseas applicants. Candidates are shortlisted for the Analytical Writing Test (AWT) and Personal Interview (PI) based on their test scores, academic performance, and other criteria.
The minimum CAT cut-offs for shortlisting vary by category. For General and EWS candidates, the overall cut-off is 80 percentile, with sectional cut-offs at 70 percentile. Lower thresholds apply for NC-OBC, SC, ST, and PwD candidates.
At later stages, IIMA evaluates applicants using an Application Rating (AR) score. This score is calculated based on academic performance in Classes 10 and 12, undergraduate studies, work experience, and a gender diversity factor.
