Say you're going to board your next metro train in the Aqua Line metro and you come across your favourite movie actor on the station. Seems too good to be true, doesn't it? Well, Aqua Line Metro stations have become open for film shootings - so don't be too surprised if you find yourself in the background scene of the next blockbuster movie. If you're lucky, you could even come across your favourite star.

The Aqua Line metro will be immortalized on the silver screen. The metro could be used for showing high speed intense action chases and sequences, romantic scenes in the metro, or even to showcase the daily routine in the life of an average Delhiite. The goal of this move is to gain a massive revenue bump from fare and non-fare activities.

NMRC officials have stated that some of the metro stations along this route see very little footfall and publicity from the films could attract a newer crowd to the Aqua Line. Apart from that, the plan also states that some areas of the metro premises could be used for theme based events such as women empowerment drives, sanitation movements, spreading awareness about road safety and a lot more.

However, there is no word yet on crowd control and how the masses will be redirected when shooting for a movie is actually going on.

Many movies try to give a glimpse of what life is like in New Delhi, Noida, Gurugram and the NCR region, but the depiction of DTC buses or Metro trains seems lacklustre to say the least. Though set designers do a great job, the essence of the public transport is left out, making it seem rather lifeless. Now, when you see a scene of a metro, it is highly likely that you've been there and that does give you bragging rights, does it not?

At any rate, this is an interesting move and one that has left us rather surprised. The ulterior motive behind this development is for the metros to earn more money and give film makers a chance to show the metro in a great light.
