Almost 51km of metro stretch is set to become operational in Delhi NCR in the next three months! This includes the Blue Line extension from Noida Sector 34 to Electronic City, the Dilshad Garden to New Bus Stand corridor in Ghaziabad, and the Aqua Line connecting Noida and Greater Noida.

“The Noida-Greater Noida connecting metro route and the Noida Sector 34 to Electronic City connector is expected to be ready within a month, while the Dilshad Garden to New Bus Stand stretch in Ghaziabad will be ready within two months. Which means that a new, almost 51 km metro stretch will be ready in Delhi NCR within the next three months and almost 90 km countrywide,” Secretary, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Durga Shanker Mishra said.

The news came as the new 9.7 km section of Pink Line metro Mayur Vihar-Lajpat Nagar and Lajpat Nagar-Mayur Vihar was given the green flag and a joint inauguration by Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, from Metro Bhavan this Monday.

Noida Metro: Aqua Line to inaugurate soon

While the Dilshad Garden-New Bus Stand metro in Ghaziabad, the 9.41km metro project, is nearing completion, the Aqua Line Metro connecting Noida to Greater Noida was supposed to be inaugurated already after it received the thumbs up from the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety for its operations. The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC)‘s Aqua Line stretch will cover over 29.7 kilometres between 21 stations.

The Blue Line connector between Noida Sector 34 metro station and Electronic City metro station is almost 6.8 km long and will have six metro stations - Noida Sector 34, Noida Sector 52, Noida Sector 61, Noida Sector 59, Noida Sector 62 and Noida Electronic City.
