Delhi/Noida: Noida's Aqua Line is quite new if one compares it to other Delhi Metro lines. It was launched back in January and it is already getting an expansion. Though it already connects many areas in Noida, the problem arises when commuters have to interchange lines to get to other metro routes. The upcoming expansion will link the Aqua Line to Botanical Garden, which is one of the most high traffic metro stations. Here's all you need to know about the Aqua Line expansion.

What's the update?

The new and upcoming change to the Aqua Line's route comes after the many issues that it was facing. The major issue that was being faced by commuters was when it came to interchanging stations. Travellers faced a lot of problems when they had to change from the Aqua Line to the Blue Line.

Commuters would have to exit the metro stations and make use of third party modes of transport to change the metro route they were on. When the extended route is complete, the authorities expect to see a major spike in the ridership.

What is the extended route?

As part of the upcoming expansion in the Aqua Line, the metro route will get up to 10 new stations. The proposed stations will connect areas in Noida such as Sector 91, Sector 93, Sector 98, Sector 127, Sector 125, Sector 126 and a few more residential as well as commercial areas in the city.

Residents of these areas have to make use of the buses, which are rather time consuming and have a few drawbacks. Since the buses don't travel over very long distances, commuters are often dissuaded from making use of them.

The metro route will be built along the existing route and users of the Aqua Line will also benefit from the expansion. The extended metro route will be especially beneficial for the commuters who travel all the way from Delhi to Noida just to get to work or college. It will also be less time consuming as they no longer have to change routes.
