The dreams of all Delhi University aspirants who want to be the next big thing are about to come true. DU is gearing up to start a new course on entrepreneurship, ‘BBA in Entrepreneurship’, from the next academic year!
There are only 7 private institutes in India which currently offer this course whereas the other institutes only provide a diploma. This course will be the first of its kind in Delhi University and it’s bound to shake things up!
Poonam Verma, the principal of Shaheed Sukhdev College pitched this proposal and if it is approved her college will be the first one to offer it.
The admission to this course will be based on an entrance test, group discussion and personal interview. The admission procedure is aimed to analyse a candidate’s reasoning and quantitative aptitude.
According to the proposal, students will be expected to complete 2 internships and submit a well-researched dissertation at the end of their 6th semester. The 3-year degree course will consist of 158 credits as per the Choice Based Credit System.
The aim of introducing this course is to equip students with the skills needed to start and successfully run their own businesses. Since there has been a mushrooming of start-ups, this course aims at promoting skill-development and entrepreneurship expertise at an academic level.
