ATMs help us breathe a sigh of relief whenever we are short on cash and it can be really hectic and inconvenient to actually go out in search of one, specially when at a metro station!
You might lose your line, get late, be compelled to purchase another ticket or swipe your card again and what not- the inconveniences are limitless!
You don't have to get out of metro stations in Delhi and NCR to withdraw cash from the ATMs anymore.
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation is planning to install at least one ATM machine on every station on its network.
The move is comprehended to benefit daily passengers while providing revenue for the Corporation!
A DMRC official was also quoted as saying, "Currently, 175 stations already have one or more ATMs, but with the rapid expansion in 2018, the idea is to cover the entire network with the facility in 2019.”
Last month, DMRC had commenced a service in partnership with cab aggregators- Ola and Uber, to provide connectivity for commuters through its stands at the stations!
Another DMRC official stated, “DMRC has called Expression of Interest for licensing open space to Scheduled Commercial Banks and non-bank entities in India under Companies Act 1956 for the installation of ATMs!”
Presently the Delhi Metro spans over 317 km with over 200 stations and this was a much-needed facility!
We are honestly expecting this facility to make our lives easier so that even if we have 99 problems, this shouldn’t be one of them!
