For a long time now, Delhi Metro's stations have become increasingly posh. With big general stores, a few eateries, wall murals and what not, the stations are sending out a more lively vibe. The latest metro station to join the 'posh' stations is Chattarpur station on the yellow line. The station has been fitted with loads of new facilities that will make the metro experience a much better one.
Chattarpur metro station has been completely revamped and amidst the concrete jungle, it stands out owing to the massive green plaza that has been built along the station. The station now has a green cover, and shaded sitting areas for passengers who have to wait for a long time. Apart from that, even for those in a hurry, it fresh air and sight of greenery comes as a sigh of relief.
Apart from just the green cover, there is a small public plaza, a new stop and go area for buses and another one for cabs, parking bays, streamlined functioning auto rickshaws, all of which contribute towards improved traffic situations. Along the station, the traffic is generally stalling, but not for long. The aforementioned public plaza has already opened for the public but construction for some of the parking areas is still left.
The plaza itself has an amphitheatre, a walking plaza, loads of green cover and was constructed in an area of the station that was lying unused. The area has been given a complete overhaul and it is attracting a lot of attention. The amphitheatre is complete with a green landscape area, seating arrangements to make sure that the metro is not just another boring means of transport.
We're glad that Chattarpur Metro station has undergone this change. The metro station is one of the major stations along Yellow Line and it was in dire need of a makeover. The fact that it now has other attractions as well makes it a better metro station on the whole.
