The recently announced Aqua Line in Noida is coming as a major boon to residents of the city. One issue that had been plaguing Aqua Line since its inception was the lack of last mile connectivity, or in other words, a feeder bus service. Recently, the NMRC had announced that it would finally make feeder buses active and now, there’s a new development.
Owners of the Noida Metro smart card can now also use the same card on the feeder buses, which is a major benefit of having the card. Additionally, existing users of the smart card can make use of it starting from the second week of June.
As of now, the existing Noida metro cards are only usable in the Aqua Line. Moreover, the Delhi Metro cards are not functional in the Aqua Line. This is one of the major reasons why many everyday commuters are rather dissatisfied with the Aqua Line. At any rate, the commuters are happy that now the card has more than just one use.
This comes as a very welcome change and it could fundamentally change the way that the average commuter uses the Noida Aqua Line. The users of Aqua Line were eagerly waiting for this change.
As for the feeder buses themselves, there are over 50 buses which have state of the art facilities- air condition, wi-fi, LED display, etc. These low floor buses connect areas in the city that even Metro doesn’t. The buses ply in more than 10 routes across Noida and are fully monitored by CCTV cameras, that ensure a safer travel.
The buses start operations at Botanical Garden Metro station and go all the way to Greater Noida. Similarly, the buses also start from Noida Extension to Sector 51 Metro Station, and cover Gaur City, Kisan Chowk, Garhi Chaukhandi village, and others on the way. These buses also ply between Noida and Greater Noida, covering Sector Alpha 1, Pari Chowk, Knowledge Park, NSEZ. Since the feeder buses connect a lot of areas, it is certainly a boon for residents of Noida.
