Delhi metro is nothing short of the lifeline of the national capital. With a plethora of riders everyday, from all walks of life, it is probably the most expansive intra city rail transport system in any city in India. The Delhi metro has gone through many phases of developments and now, the latest one comes in the form of new high rise view cutters and noise barriers on a few magenta line stations.

What’s the update?

As part of the new safety features in the magenta line metro routes, the route from Shankar Vihar and Sadar Bazar Cantonment Station will get the new features. The high rise view cutters are especially beneficial if the metro lines are located very close to residential areas and office complexes. It cuts off the entire view for metro travellers, making the areas as secure as can be.

Another new addition to the magenta line metro route happens to be the noise barrier which helps isolate the noise made by the metro while travelling. You must have seen these in several other metros and flyovers across the city. Essentially, they ensure that the noise from vehicles and trains does not disrupt activities in nearby areas, housing colonies and office complexes.

Travelling in Delhi metro is usually a smooth ride- especially you can find a seat- and now, it is set to get even better not just for commuters but also for those that live near metro stations and metro lines. Shankar vihar is a highly populated area in Delhi cantonment and the station is located right next to APS Shankar Vihar. The upcoming changes could help make the school area better and more secure for students.

As for the view cutters, the goal is make the cantonment less visible and since it is a sensitive area, the correct precautions must be kept in mind by the DMRC. At any rate, the DMRC is always striving to make Delhi metro a better place to travel.
