If you’re travelling by the Airport Express Line of Delhi Metro, you can avail free high-speed Wi-Fi services inside the train premises.
The need for internet has been peaking at this point in India but during such times of major concerns over its availability, our National Capital is surely winning hearts.
In the recent past, the Delhi Metro officials have equipped the metro stations with free Wi-fi services and now, DMRC has extended this service inside metros as well. If you’re travelling by the Airport Express Line of Delhi Metro, you can avail free high-speed Wi-Fi services inside the train premises.
Earlier, we could access free WiFi at major Delhi Metro stations on the Airport Express Line, Yellow and Blue lines but now, it has become much more convenient. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation's managing director, Mangu Singh, unveiled this new facility at the Shivaji Stadium Metro Station. This WiFi service will also be enabled in other corridors, in the near future.
Owing to this initiative, India now ranks as the 4th country after Russia, South Korea and China to launch WiFi facilities in metro trains.
The WiFi facility, with 2 Mbps speed, can be accessed by logging onto the network with the name "METROWIFI_FREE".
After this step, simply enter your phone number which will be verified using a one-time password and after entering this OTP, you can enjoy unlimited high-speed internet throughout your travel. Awesome, right?!
The Delhi Airport Express Metro line stretches approximately over 22 km and was launched in 2011 and has 6 stations- New Delhi, Shivaji Stadium, Dhaula Kuan, Delhi Aerocity, IGI Airport and Dwarka Sector 21.
This stretch is going to be the first DMRC corridor to provide free Wi-Fi on-board and we’re surely applauding this move.
So now, while on your way to your destination, you can now browse social media, live stream any match, make video or audio calls and so much more- the possibilities are truly endless. We can now safely bid network issues a goodbye.
