What's the update?

Delhi metro's upcoming and highly anticipated line, the Grey Line is gearing up to connect some of the most congested parts of Delhi. What's striking about the metro route is the fact that it will soon have a one of a kind, dumbbell shaped metro station. Now that sounds like something worth seeing.

Why the odd shape?

As per the information, the reason behind making a station shaped like a dumbbell is quite clever. According to the architects, it helps save space, takes less time to construct and helps in a seamless flow of traffic.

This shape will help DMRC save space and will ensure that traffic isn't disrupted. Apart from that, the architects have confirmed that passenger movement and train functionality will not take a hit. Additionally, it will also help DMRC make the station more cost efficient.

Now that you know the reason behind it, it makes a lot more sense to have such a metro station. As for the interiors, we do not know how they will pan out, but we can say that DMRC will take the same approach as is seen at other metros.

Well, at least you won't have any trouble finding the place from moving traffic because it's going to stick out like a sore thumb.

This area that Delhi Metro will soon cover was one that lacked proper metro connectivity. Now that it is finally going to be inaugurated soon, residents of these areas can breathe a sigh of relief.
