Ready for a hassle free shopping experience?
It is a known fact that if you're looking to shop, the local markets in Delhi are your best bet. You can get a plethora of things in the narrow lanes and at a much cheaper price than elsewhere. Yet, most people shy away from shopping at these local markets owing to the noise, congestion and the rush that accompanies them.
If you're someone who would rather buy something expensive than go to the congested local markets in search of a good deal, we have news for you. Delhi government has planned to construct a multi-level building mini-Sadar Bazaar of sorts with parking, indoor shops and zero rush.
As a joint venture of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and the north municipal body of Delhi, a 16-storey building will be constructed for the upcoming Nabi Karim Metro intersection, Mini Sadar Bazaar and a parking space. This building will come up at the place of former Idgah slaughterhouse.
This building will serve a triple purpose, with 4 underground floors for the Nabi Karim metro station, a 9 floor parking space and 26,000 square metres of area for a shopping square. While the Nabi Karim metro station will serve as an intersection for Phase IV of the Delhi Metro, the parking space will de-congest the roads and the shopping square will make for a great shopping experience.
With such an infrastructure that serves three purpose at the same time we are Delhi is setting a great example for other cities to follow. The infrastructure will not only be space efficient but would de-congest the roads at the same time. We can't wait for the Mini Sadar Bazaar to finally be functional and more such structures to be build in the city.
