The issue of traffic snarls and jams across the NCR is nothing short of exasperating. With the ever increasing vehicles on the road, traffic jams are becoming more frequent and often times, can lead to major complications. One area where things are pretty bad is the Noida-Greater Noida expressway. Since its inception, the e-way has dealt with major traffic crisis and the authorities are making sure that it doesn’t happen in the future.
In line with this, the Noida Authorities have begun the work of broadening the lane which grants entry into Noida from Delhi.
The plan to make a new lane for vehicles coming from the DND flyway loop had been in the books for a long time now. With the growing traffic, the Noida Authorities finally decided to act on it and provide a better service to daily commuters. The stretch of road sees over a thousand commuters every day and once it is widened, it will surely help decongest the route.
Usually, there is a bottleneck at Sector 16A, which is the point where vehicles make their entry into Noida. Since this is one of the major entry points- which is too narrow to accommodate a large number of vehicles, this becomes a choke point, occasionally leading to long traffic traffic jams. This is largely because the six lane road of the e-way merges into a two lane road, which has its own traffic.
As part of the widening of the roads, the goal is to essentially provide daily commuters with a better travel experience and decongest the entire route as a whole. As of now, commuters from DND loop have it the worst as the snarls never end for them.
Though traffic cops are situated near the existing routes to ensure that traffic condition doesn’t go out of hand, many of them have reported that there is no way around it and the road will have to be broadened. They have also stated that during rush hour, managing traffic is nearly impossible due to the sheer number of vehicles on the roads.
Essentially, the move will benefit students and working class folks who travel from Noida to Delhi or vice versa every day. Since the road will be made wide, they can expect smoother flow of traffic and less bottlenecks along their routes. Not only will it help conserve time, but it will also ensure that commuters have a safer and much better travel.
