India's first privately run train, the Tejas Express is probably doing a lot many things right. The fact that Tejas has made a positive impression in the minds of people is visible in the profits the train made for the month of October alone. In the past month, Tejas Express earned a revenue of nearly ₹3.70 crores, over and above the sole profits of ₹70 lakhs.

These figures are rather impressive, especially for a new train that is just a month old. However, it seems that there are more than ample takers for good train services, speed and comfort between Delhi & Lucknow.

As for the details on the running status of the train, it was active for 21 days as it runs six days in a week. The IRCTC announced that the train averaged an occupancy rate of about 80-85 percent on each commute. They also stated that they gained an approximate profit of ₹17.5 lakhs everyday the train was active, which tells us that Tejas Express is here to stay.
