Joining the existing cafe culture in the city, The Nerdy Indian has opened its gate recently at Said-ul-Ajaib, and we’re already geeking out!
Keeping our love for chronicles and delish grubs in mind, this quaint cafe is offering us a collection of books which we can choose to read, while devouring nosh with quirky names. Think Dickens, Rowling, Tolkien, Brown, King- from classics to contemporary and everything in between, The Nerdy Indian’s library has your back.
You can also take the books home (our inner bibliophile is screaming) and we’ll tell you how!
The Nerdy Indian cafe is the first of its kind in Delhi where you can get books after meals! If you’ve been eyeing any of the beauties on their shelves and have an intense desire of bagging it back home, you simply have to eat worth ₹500 (minimum) and you’d be good to go.
But what if your bill is above ₹1,000? Will it still be just one book?
If you're bill is between ₹500 to ₹999, you’ll be getting 1 book but if it's between ₹1,000 to ₹1,499, you’ll be saying hola to 2 of ‘em. But if you’ve gorged on too many grubs (no regrets because they’re soooo gooood) and the bill stands somewhere between ₹1,500 to ₹1,999, you get 3 books and so on! You get our point.
A 15-20 seater joint with wooden floors, a deluge of natural lights toasting up the ambiance, books and some more books along with various snacking recourses, The Nerdy Indian has us heart-eyed!
When here, order the Mar-Gayi-Rita Pizza, Potato Tikki Mili Bhagat and if you’re into fusion flavours, pick from a variety of Italian-styled dimsums. The Nutella Paratha is also a crowd-puller as it works as part of a main course and a dessert too. The Makkhan Scotch Shake slaked our thirst in style while our bookworm selves were busy reading a thriller we picked from the racks.
From teal cutlery to the comic book-themed table, this place will pull you in even if you ain’t a reader. So, step in with your squad to embrace the super chill vibe here.
It also doesn’t matter if you don’t have company for your visit. Come alone, order and wait with your eyes fixed on the pages of a book you’ve been wanting to delve into and it’ll be a solitary evening you’d cherish forever!
