The recently inaugurated Noida Aqua Line metro has come as a great boon for the residents of the city. Though it has turned out to be an amazing service for residents of Noida, it wasn’t completely devoid of problems initially. One of the biggest issue was the lack of proper interchange channels from the Blue Line and vice versa.
Now, bid adieu to the interchange woes as a new pathway connecting the two stations has been inaugurated, thereby making your commute more seamless.
The issue of interchange between the Blue Line and the Aqua Line was one that was plaguing travellers since the inauguration of NMRC’s metro route. In fact, it even dissuaded many from using the Aqua Line as they felt a bus or a cab would be less time consuming.
Earlier, passengers would have to walk all the way from Blue Line’s Sector 52 station to Aqua Line’s Sector 51 metro station. The walk was rather inconvenient as commuters had to exit one station, enter the other one and purchase a new ticket. This would often result in a massive delay to students and office goers who frequent the metros.
The walkway, to increase convenience for travellers, was inaugurated recently, along with the Blue Line extension up to Electronic City, Noida. The walkway will be 300-meters in length, and will directly connect the Blue Line and Aqua Line metro stations.
The walkway has been developed in such a manner that it also makes use of five e-rickshaws at either side. The best part is that this service is completely free of cost, so if you’re broke and in a hurry, it’s your best alternative. Since the walkway is only 300 meters in length, you can get to the other station much faster now.
Noida Metro’s Aqua Line has been benefiting many residents across the city and now, it will get even more convenient. With the help of the new walkway, interchange problems will become a thing of the past and will lead to a better connected metro rail system. Over all, it will benefit anyone who frequents either the Aqua Line or the Blue Line.
This development is one of the many that will shape the future of the metro rail system in the national capital. In other news, another development has emerged that makes travelling on the Aqua Line on Sundays and other National Holidays much cheaper. This was announced by the NMRC recently, and will surely benefit people from all walks of life.
