We Delhiites can’t stop cribbing about traffic here in the capital and every red light makes us mutter a few curses for sure.*Bangaloreans be like: Talk to the hand*
But someone out there has heard our prayers and for North Delhiites specifically, their plight related to congestion eating up substantial amount of time, is going to end soon!
North Delhi’s Peeragarhi is always jam-packed without a space to breathe or drive without frequently hitting the brakes and this is set to change in the coming times, pretty soon.
The Unified Traffic and Transportation Infrastructure (Planning and Engineering) Centre (UTTIPEC) has just approved a scheme, to build a flyover and two underpass U-turns on NH10 between Jwala Heri Market traffic crossing and Jwalapuri crossing. According to the plan by PWD, a double carriageway flyover on Rohtak Road (NH-10) near Laxmi Narayan Mandir road will be constructed, saving time and lives.
A separate section will be built for pedestrian crossing along with the widening of the road and the stretch along the proposed metro station (which will come up under Phase 4) will also be developed.
This is a welcome change from all the hustle-bustle of the Peergarhi Chowk because the traffic wears out our energy at peak office hours and we’re left with frowns! Although this might take a while to be executed, things are looking up for us Delhiites and we can only anticipate this relief as of now.
