Parking charges in local markets of Delhi to become an expensive affair!
If you're planning to hit the local markets of Delhi and celebrate the season of festivals, you might have to shell out a few extra bucks from your pocket.
We all can attest to the fact that CP is where Delhi comes to chill and Sarojini is where they shop from. So it won't be much to say that the local markets are the real lifelines of the city. So, if you're someone who is a frequent visitor of these markets, be ready to pay 2-3 times more than you used to pay earlier.
To make sure that parking is streamlined in the local markets of Delhi, such as CP, Sarojini Nagar or Kamla Nagar market, civic authorities have planned to increase the parking charges here by 200-300 percent. Which means that if you were paying ₹20 an hour, now you'll be paying something around ₹40 and ₹60.
The prices may also vary according to the increase and decrease in demand of the parking lot.
The problems that the civic authorities face is that people park for hours, often leaving their vehicles parked for 12-18 hours. Which then prohibits the shoppers and market visitors to have ample parking space in the area.
The increase in charge will discourage people from parking at the lots for an extended period of time. It has also been done to make sure that the parking process is much simpler and streamlined.
If you're someone who uses these parking lots quite frequently, we would suggest carrying a little extra change. The prices of parking are going to skyrocket soon, we can only hope that the civic authorities upgrade the parking amenities and provide for more parking spaces in the city.
