Delhiites might soon be able to get relief from the scorching heat and the sun with a thunderstorm coming in the next 24 hours
The unrelenting heat and the unforgiving sun in Delhi may soon go away and give us a much needed relief from the “Dilli ki garmi”. The summer has been on its peak since the last few weeks and the entire North has been suffering the repercussions. The most frustrating aspect is that the summers have not yet begun properly and we are already beyond the point of dealing with it. But don’t run away to the hills just yet, the Met Department has predicted a thunderstorm in the coming 24 hours in Delhi.
This change is being caused by an active western disturbance which might bring light rains and thunderstorm to the city. The news is a welcome relief especially in a time when the city is boiling up and the temperatures have reached above 45 degrees.
The forecast predicts the change to start happening as soon as Thursday and let me say this, we are much relieved.
Though before the rains come, the wind speed may go upto 50 kms per hour and that is bound to change the air quality of the city which has been suffering from long.
Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 44 and 43 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. While today the temperature dropped to 40 degrees, it is expected to drop a notch or two further before settle at about 41 degrees in the coming day or two.
