When around old Dilli, many meat lovers head straight either to Karim's or Al-Jawahar, for a hearty meaty meal. Of course there's nothing wrong with either of those places, but we personally think that these two places are past their prime and over-hyped to some extent!

So where should you go if you’re craving for a delicious buttery chicken? Well, if you’re a true Delhiite, the answer for you should always be Aslam’s Chicken Corner at Dilli 6!

Why Aslam’s?

A small entrance welcoming you with a colossal pile marinated chicken pieces, placed next to a coal-powered grill, is an introduction to the entrance of Aslam’s. The slow roasting of the meat into a juicy charred colour and the aroma of the smokey meat invokes a hunger in our tummies, that wasn’t their before!

Once the succulent chicken has been grilled to perfection, you can devour it right then with a sprinkle of chatpata masala! If calories aren’t one for your worries, then opt for the for the buttery chicken version where they generously dunk the morsels in a butter gravy!

What’s Special?

Here at Aslam’s, they serve you a chicken dish which isn’t exactly tandoori or an apt definition of butter chicken, which was pioneered by Moti Mahal! It is Aslam’s version of a Tandoori Butter Chicken. The chicken is marinated in a white pepper and a subtle spice mix and then cooked on a charcoal grill. It's then tossed in a sauce that's made from dahi, cream, a ton-of-butter and black pepper! The yoghurt cuts through the fat and doesn't let it overpower the palate which then results in one of the best chicken dishes that you might’ve ever tasted! The overflowing butter seeps deep into the chicken cuts and gives us a flavour to remember- definitely a better version of the dry tandoori chicken which we usually dip in chutneys and savour with kacha pyaaz to add a zing!

So this Ramzan, if you’re around this area, it’ll be a sin for you to not indulge in this delicay and if you’re observing a fast this month, your iftari can’t get any better than this! Wash it all down with a glass of cold Rooh Afza and you’ll know what heaven tastes like.
