When it comes to cameos on the silver screen, Delhi, as a city is no stranger to screen time. Many a time, film makers have tried to encapsulate Delhi and its spirit. Often times, the city is the backbone of story as many characters originate from there and have deep rooted interests in the city. Now, you could see more of Delhi's iconic spots on the big screen as the DTTDC (Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation) is coming up with a plan that will make many places easier to film in.
We're always glad to catch a few glimpses of an area that we're familiar with on the big screen. It makes us all feel more involved and like a part of the movie, instead of just being an audience member. The DTTCDC's new plan will surely ensure that, as they are setting up provisions for shooting in tourist spots and famous hubs of Delhi.
Popular locations include areas such as CP, old Delhi, Humayun's Tomb, India Gate and a few more of the places that tend to attract tourists. Not only do these places have a lasting impact on the viewer, they also provide stunning visuals that add to the story and dynamics of a movie.
To make shootings possible here, film makers will first have to get the required paperwork, which will no longer be a huge hassle. Since the authorities are pushing for more shootings, they'll be eager to lend the required documents. Following that, the DTTDC will clear out an area which will be used for shooting the movies.
Delhi is undoubtedly a common choice for directors but this move is here to make sure that the tourism industry benefits from it too.
