Are you tired of your neighbour’s loud parties that go on till the wee hours of the night? Well, there's a solution to your problems, then. In a move to make noise complaint registrations easier and spread more awareness about noise pollution, the Delhi Government have come up with a plan that makes it possible to register noise complaints through the web. Much to the discomfort of noisy neighbours everywhere, you can register the complaint from the comfort of your own home.

If you happen to be the one hosting the loud parties, then stay on your toes because the cops will arrive at your doorstep in a matter of 30 minutes!

What's the update?

The latest move by the Delhi Government is an ambitious step towards making Delhi a better place to live in. For a long time, people living in the more crowded areas of the city have been plagued by loud noises, late night parties and what not.

Soon, all this may come to an end with the help of the Delhi Government's new website that allows residents of different localities to file a complaint almost instantly. The website, ngms.delhi.gov.in has all the required fields that you'll need to fill out.

The new website is already up and running and if you do happen to register a complaint, you'll have to fill in a few details following which, an officer will be present at the location to reprimand and slap fines on the wrong doers.

As per the rules, "noise" essentially comes in various forms- firecrackers, vehicles, electricity generators that run on fossil fuels, loud music, baraats and a few more. Apart from just the website, there's a helpline number that you can call on too.

The ulterior motive of this move is not just to curb noise pollution in the city, but to also spread awareness about it and ensure that it people are more cautious of the noises they are making in the future. As per the guidelines, there are different noise levels for what will actually passes as loud noise. At any rate, this is one move that will finally put an end to loud weddings, irrelevant announcements and late-night party monstrosities.
