Knocksense: A local content and recommendations platform

Hauz Khas is ‘the’ party destination of any Delhiite. No matter who you are, a bunch of broke college kids or a group of professionals looking to party away the night, Hauz Khas has always been the answer. It is hippie town and we love it for the vibe it has. The old world monuments coming together with the new age bars, pubs, cafes and luxury shopping joints/boutiques to make for a mesmerizing amalgamation of cultures. But guess what, the dependable Hauz Khas monuments that have remained open to all, might soon be tickets only.

What’s the update?

Now you’ll have to pay to enter the Hauz Khas group of monuments. A gazette notification that came early on in the month of April stated that 26 monuments in the country will be included in ticketed monuments category, reports TOI.

The Facts

Indians and others who fall under the SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation), will have to pay ₹25 while foreigners will pay ₹300 to enter the said monuments.

If you pay by digital means the tickets will cost ₹20 for Indians and others from SAARC BIMSTEC, while foreigners will have to pay ₹250.

Knock Knock

The Hauz Khas monuments have for long been our solace, the go-to when we had no “plans”. Going to a café to grab a late lunch and then heading towards the monuments to spend some peaceful time has defined what a “good time” meant for so long. Yet, much like the other monuments, Hauz Khas also deserves care and looking after, which means that they won’t be much scribbling or littering. It may also give the monuments enough room to go under restoration.
