Who isn’t a fan of desserts? They sweeten every bite and help add so much to our meal. Some people believe that desserts are supposed to be had after you have a whole meal, while there are some who will not eat much because they are looking to fill their tum-tums with a small hill’s worth of sweet stuff. No matter which category you fall in a good dessert place can always spread a smile on all of our faces and especially they are the fancy ones! Head to Dessertvala in GK-1 to fulfil all of your cheesecake-tart-pie and panna cotta fantasies.

Dessertvala is a tiny dessert place located at Greater Kailash-1 and is hardly a 15 kilometers walk from the Greater Kailash metro station. The place doesn’t look like it came out of a fairy tale but it is fairly laid out, with enough seating space for 6-7 people. But a fine epicure knows that when you go to a cafe/bakery/restaurant, the taste, flavours and presentation matter way more than ‘how good a place looks’. And on the aspect of food Dessertvala has us wooed!

New York Cheesecake (right)

The bakery serves few of the most difficult-to-perfect desserts that will make you want to savour every single bite and enjoy each little texture.

The chef is passionate about the desserts he’s making and it shows in the level of dedication and the craft that involves making these dessert. The desserts are made with purpose and precision, keeping in mind every single aspect, from the presentation to the mouthfeel, the Chef pays attention to it all and that alone elevates the desserts to another level.

The Sun

We would recommend trying their classic New York Cheesecake it is baked to perfection, is silky smooth and oh-so-luxurious. The perfect balance between the crumbly bottom and the baked cheese makes for an experience worth remembering.

We would also recommend having ‘The Sun’ and ‘The Trio’. The sun is a stunning dessert which is made with a sinful combination of lemon mousse, lemon curd and topped with toasted meringue. It is the perfect refreshing dessert for the summer. While ‘The Trio’ is a layered and jarred panna cotta, chocolate mousse and whipped chocolate. It is soft, decadent, baked just right and topped with cookie crumbs to add a great crunch to subtle dessert.

Dessertvala has a number of other options which include a selection of eclairs, breads, cakes and tarts and if you have enough space in your stomach, we would suggest trying each one of them!

The only complain we have is that the portion size is quite small, though the desserts are not exactly expensive we would appreciate having a little more of the amazing experience.
