From ‘Masaan’ to ‘Uri’, our Vicky boy has had an interesting journey in Bollywood which landed him straight in our hearts! There isn’t a look this Punjabi munda can’t pull off and there isn’t a role which he cannot justify. His unique character portrayals set amidst the backdrop of intense story-lines, makes him one of the most versatile actors of today’s time.
After donning the uniform twice on the reel screen, Vicky is back in a uniform for Meghna Gulzar’s next, where he’d be playing the role of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw! Vicky Kaushal has already worked with Meghna Gulzar in ‘Raazi’ back in 2018 and this is the second time that this duo will be working together on a project. The film will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala and it’s strictly not a biopic; just an interesting narrative of the hero’s life.
Sam Manekshaw was the 1st Indian Army officer to have been promoted to the rank of Field Marshal and he led the Indian Army to victory in East Pakistan. He is also credited for India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war. Manekshaw passed away on the 27th of June ‘08, at the age of 94.
On Twitter, Vicky shared his first look from the film, where he is looking the spitting image of the war hero.
The film has been penned by Bhavani Iyer, who wrote ‘Raazi’ and Shantanu Srivastava, who’s known for his clever writing in ‘Badhaai Ho’. Vicky is currently working on his Udham Singh biopic, which is being directed by Shoojit Sircar.
