Ahead of the peak tourism season, the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) has decided to run multimodal experiential tours here to notch up the travellers’ experience. As per reports, tourist-friendly services such as the hop on hop off buses and the first operations of amphibious (sea and land) vehicles will be launched in Goa under this scope of this programme. Notably, the tender of running both these tour facilities has been granted to the M/s Prive Property Management Pvt Ltd., after a successful bidding round.

The Goa Tourism Department is looking for a promising holiday season here in wake of the overall controlled COVID-19 situation in the state and across. As such, it has favoured reviving the ho-ho buses, a popular means of travel among domestic tourists here before the onset of the pandemic. As per officials, the flexible bus services were also hitting the right chord with a lot of foreign travellers too.
Officials have informed that the buses offer a hybrid AC and open-air section to the travellers along with a flexible itinerary, helping tourists to explore Goa as per the plans. These double-decker buses ply across all prominent tourist destinations in a region, where passengers have the ease of boarding any bus, from anywhere on the day’s ticket.
Amphibious services to finally start in Goa

Besides this, the state will also be starting the maiden operations of amphibious vehicles during the current season. These tour services will operate on both sea and land, providing last-mile connectivity to travellers across. As per reports, GTD first moved the proposal to introduce amphibious services in the state in 2016, however, the project was delayed due to permission issues. Officials pointed out that if the grant was accorded in time, Goa would have been the first state in India to run these integrated services.
Once in full motion, travellers coming to Goa will no longer have to rely on expensive taxis or rented vehicles to traverse Goa as per their taste. It will not only open a way of affordable travel mode but also a new experience with class-apart services.
