Ever found yourself struggling to get from one airport terminal to another? Worried that the feeder bus from the metro to the terminal is going to get stuck in traffic? Well, fret no more. DIAL (Delhi International Airport Pvt Ltd) has proposed two new developments that should end these traffic woes of ours. Read on to know more.
What’s the update?
The main development coming around IGI airport is the fact that very soon, there will be a Y shaped flyover that will connect all the three terminals of IGI airport in Delhi. The second one is on a smaller scale and is basically a bypass that allows travellers to take a free left turn from the signal crossing to get to T3 or straight towards T1.
The Y shaped flyover is particularly beneficial for Delhiites and frequent flyers. It will not only clear out the main approach road towards T2 and T3, but will also ensure that feeder buses from the metros can get passengers to T1 as quickly as possible. The flyover will also have two approach roads- one from T3 and another from Dwarka.
Passenger from Dwarka have it real good as now they can avoid the entire Palam route and directly reach the airport. These roads will have two way access whereas the third route will accommodate only one way traffic.
Whom will it benefit?
This is one move that will directly benefit the people of Delhi. Not only will it make getting to the airport less of a hassle, but will also clear up roads near the airport that people take to get to work.
As for travellers, they no longer have to leave hours in advance since the Y shaped flyover will help in easing out traffic. Additionally, for those that accidentally reach a different terminal (which is something that happens all too often) this is a nothing short of a blessing.
At any rate, we are glad to see that the authorities are finally dealing with the traffic problems that are faced when one has to take a flight.
