The year 2019 has brought many changes for the public transportation system in Delhi NCR. Introduction of new lines, extensions of old ones and now approval of the much awaited Gurugram-Faridabad connection.
As a gift to the residents of NCR, the center government gave a go ahead to the ambitious Faridabad-Gurugram Metro route that had been pending from quite some time.
Going from Faridabad to Gurugram this project would cost around ₹ 5900 crore and would only have 7 stations on the route.
Starting at Bata station in Faridabad, the line would include Bhadkal Enclave, Pali Crusher Zone, Bhati Mines, Mandi, Sushant Lok Sector 54 and Sector 45 and would terminate at the HUDA City Centre station in Gurugram. The line would be 30.3 kilometer long and will be elevated.
While both Haryana and Central governments have given in-principle approval of the project, the detailed project report will be available after six months. The governments next concern is to connect Greater Noida to Greater Faridabad. Work on the bridge connecting Greater Noida with Faridabad at Manjawali is almost done and it would open to residents in a few months’ time.
Even though the projects has been recently approved, it would be a big blessing for people who have to travel from Faridabad to Gurugram or Gurugram to Faridabad, daily.
