Knocksense: A local content and recommendations platform

Who can deny the fact that some Coldplay lyrics are quite beautiful, from talking of ‘Paradise’ to speaking of a love lost in ‘The Scientist’. Coldplay has some of the most meaningful lyrics. So if you are a fan of Coldplay or simply in love with the song ‘Yellow’, where the singer confesses of how ‘yellow’ or sunshiny and happy he felt with his lady love, you have to visit this new casual eatery in Bandra West.

And It Was Called Yellow’ is a newly opened spot and we cannot get over the connotations of the Coldplay lyrics and the beautiful interiors.

The outlet is a small structure set against the concrete jungle that is Mumbai and it feels almost otherworldly with its pristine white interiors and the shiny yellow signboard. As we enter the eatery we find the interiors to be quite quirky, fun and happy.

From the scooter stuck out of the green hedges to the rainbows, hot air balloons, clouds and gliders on the wall, we love everything about the place. The interiors scream cuteness and you would find losing yourself in the white open space and the comfortable vibe.

The food here is pretty great too, it is real Indian comfort food just styled and made in a contemporary fashion. The asli ghar ka swad mixed with a little bahar ka khana’s beauty and prep style. The fusion of techniques, flavours and styles have made us fall in love with the amazing menu.

Items such as charcoal button idli, Andhra style fish and chips, Blue cheese Naanlets, Baked Multigrain Litti, Lo-Cal Meal and Jhalmuri puchka shots are dishes that bring this fusion to life and we cannot be more amazed by them.

You should definitely try the matka biryani, panko crusted prawns, Tibetan pahadi maggi thukpa, coconut lime prawns and overload cheesy flat breads.

We would a hundred percent recommend the desserts here, much like everything on the menu they are a great fusion of flavours. We are especially fond on Filter Kaapi Baked Yogurt and Blueberry Double Ka Meetha. You can also try a plethora of drinks here, we suggest browsing through the house specialities on the menu.

So, eat up, drink up and create experiences which are hard to forget, or as the menu says:

And if you have a minute, why don't we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know?
This could be the end of everything
So why don't we go?
So why don't we go?
Somewhere only we know
