The BCCI recently announced the squad for the T20 series with a few favourites making a comeback. Along with Dhoni, Hardik Pandya and Kedar Jadhav will also play the matches, which is a welcome piece of news for fans. Dhoni will shoulder the wicket-keeping duties for India with Dinesh Karthik being the other keeper in the squad.

Due to his poor performance in the recent series against West Indies and Australia, Rishabh Pant has been dropped from the ODI squad. Apart from Pant, Manish Pandey and Umesh Yadav have also been dropped from the ODI squad and it is unclear when they will be picked again.

The main attraction of the series, for Indian cricket fans, is going to be the beloved ‘Thala’, as fans call him. Previously, ‘Thala’ was dropped from a couple of T20 matches, which, contrary to popular belief, was his own decision. The decision was taken in order to give the more youthful players a chance at showcasing their skills on an international level.

The response from Twitterati was overwhelming. From memes to simple messages, fans and players alike expressed their happiness very creatively by saying ‘Boss is back’, ‘Two minutes silence for those who thought MS Dhoni’s T20 career was over’ and much more. Have a look at some of the best reactions and responses here.

It is plain that the fans got what they wanted. People are optimistic about his performance in the upcoming New Zealand series that will begin from 6th February. They are eager to see Dhoni in his natural habitat- in a T20 match, where the stakes are high and the game is fast paced. Additionally, they are also waiting to see his performance in the series against Australia in the same T20 format.

Like the avid fans, we at KnockSense too are looking forward to see the master perform in a T20 match once again. More details about the squads for T20 and ODI have also been revealed that can be seen here.
