Neeraj Chopra, at the World Athletics Championship 2022, threw an automatic qualifier at 88.39 meters in his first attempt, surpassing the qualifying mark set at 83.50 meters. With this, he projected his third best career throw, and secured a place in the men’s javelin finals at the event.

World Athletics Championships Oregon, 22
The 18th World Athletics Championships, 2022 are currently being held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, United States, from July 15th till July 24th. Postposed by a year due to COVID-19 pandemic, the games were earlier scheduled for August, 2021.

On March 11, 2022, World Athletics announced a new Team Event Trophy, based on points won in the individual events. Each federation (country) can send a maximum of three qualified athletes, one qualified team in case of relay teams, per event at the World Athletics Championships 2022.
