Aan

'Aan', a 1952 Bollywood adventure movie, directed and produced by Mehboob Khan, was the first Indian movie to have a worldwide release. The first Bollywood movie to be shot in technicolour and the most expensive Hindi movie at the time, Aan was mostly shot in Indore. 'Tragedy King' Dilip Kumar's scenes at Lal Bagh palace and the famous song 'Dil Mein chupa ke...' with the late legend riding a chariot over Navlakha Bridge, will always make this film a little special for the people of Indore.

Kinara

Hema Malini and Jeetendra-starrer 'Kinara', showcases several scenes with various forts, tombs and palaces of Madhya Pradesh as the backdrop. Released in 1977, a major chunk of this hit movie was shot in Mandu, near Indore. The first meeting scene of the leads, the song 'Naam Gum Jaega...' and Gulzar's famous afternoon scenes, were shot at Mandu.

Narsimha

Sunny Deol, Dimple Kapadia, Urmila Matondkar and Om Puri-starrer action-drama movie, 'Narsimha' was released in 1991. This movie was shot extensively in Indore and the other attractive places in Madhya Pradesh. Though the landscape did not play an important part in the movie, it complemented the theme of the movie by presenting a subtle background for the same.

Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya

Released in 1998, the movie 'Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya' has not just one but two Indore connections. Apart from being shot in the city, the film features the 'Dabangg star' Salman Khan, who is originally from Indore as well! Further, this movie's iconic song 'O O Jane Jaana', turned Salman into a superstar overnight. Also, the college scenes of Salman and Kajol were shot at the Daly College in Indore.

Yamla Pagla Deewana 2

Sequal to the 2011 movie of the Deol trio and released in 2013, 'Yamla Pagla Deewana 2', had various shots of Indore and other cities of Madhya Pradesh. Although the movie was set in Varanasi (erstwhile known as Banaras) the scenes of the city were actually shot near Indore, owing to its cleaner locale.

Singh Saab The Great

Directed by Prakash Jha with Sunny Deol, Urvashi Rautela and Amrita Rao in the lead, 'Singh Saab The Great' was shot at multiple locations across Indore, extensively. Lal Bagh Palace, Chhappan Dukan, Mayank Blue Water Park, Regional Park, Super Corridor and the Rajwada, were all used to shoot various scenes of this movie that was released in 2013.

Youngistaan

A major chunk of Vashu Bhagnani's 'Youngistaan' was shot in the city of Indore. The movie starring Jackky Bhagnani and Neha Sharma as leads with Boman Irani, Farooq Sheikh and others as supporting cast, was released in 2014. Directed by Syed Ahmad Afzal, the film's first schedule was shot in Indore and Lucknow and the second one in Agra, at Taj Mahal.

Tevar

Produced by Boney Kapoor, 'Tevar' movie's introductory song 'Radha Nachegi' featuring Sonakshi Sinha and Manoj Bajpai, was shot at Maheshwar Ghat near Indore. Released in 2015, this big-budget movie with Arjun Kapoor as one of the main leads, has captured the intricacy of Madhya Pradesh's architecture splendidly.

Kalank

Karan Johar's 'Kalank' is a treat to the eyes, showcasing the most picturesque shots of the royal Lal Bagh Palace. Released in 2019, the movie was a star-studded affair with Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapoor, playing important roles. Since the film was set in the pre-partition era, it required a location that could depict the same and the grandeur of this palace fits the bill.

Lowest tally of daily COVID cases recorded in Maharashtra in 17 months

Reportedly, a dozen districts across Maharashtra recorded zero cases of coronavirus infections.

Maharashtra has witnessed a dip in daily fresh cases in a long while, with 1,485 new instances reported on Monday. The state has managed to mark the lowest daily count and the total tally now stands at 65,93,182. Moreover, as per reports, about a dozen districts and a few municipal corporations across the state marked zero fresh cases on Monday.

In order to trap and tackle the spread of Coronavirus infection, a night curfew from 11 PM to 6 AM had been active for a long time now. TBMs from Lucknow & Turkey will be used to construct 6 tunnels of the Kanpur Metro corridor.

Moving the Kanpur Metro construction at a fast pace, the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) has decided to focus on the underground tunnel work here. This move has come after the installation of the underground metro station about 21 meters below the ground, read reports. For this, Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) will be deployed in the city to ensure that the underground route stretches at the same level, throughout. Notably, this is the first time in Uttar Pradesh when 6 TBMs will be used simultaneously to complete the construction within the slated deadline.

UPSRTC to launch new inter-city Janrath Buses in Lucknow to cater to the festive season rush

The buses will connect Lucknow to 6 other cities including- Delhi, Varanasi, Jaipur, Muzaffarpur, Dehradun, and Gorakhpur.

The Transport Department in Lucknow is going to run 125 air-conditioned buses on major routes in the city to ease travel during the festive season rush. Known as 'Janrath Buses', these buses will provide a cheaper travel alternative as compared to the high-end luxury Volvo and Scania buses. The buses will connect Lucknow to 6 other cities including- Delhi, Varanasi, Jaipur, Muzaffarpur, Dehradun, and Gorakhpur.
