Travelling between Indore and the Madhya Pradesh State Capital, Bhopal, isn’t much of a task. The cities are just about 200 kilometers apart from one another and frequent travellers have many ways to traverse between the cities.

Now, to add to the list of ways that people can travel between these two cities, the all new Rapid Rail transit system is something that could soon become a reality. The Rapid Rail is expected to be faster than metros and it is making some other tall claims as well. Read on to know about the upcoming Rapid Rail transit system.

Following the slew of good news regarding the Indore metro, there's a new form of transportation to blow us away. This is a move that is a part of the bid to make intercity travels faster, safer, modern and more convenient. Since both, Bhopal and Indore are booming business hubs, it is a great place to start at.

As far as the Rapid Rail transit is concerned, it is supposed to be a lot faster than your average intra-city metros. The plan is to run the faster trains along three routes- Indore- Ujjain, Indore-Pithampur and Indore-Dewas. The idea to take on Bhopal under this project was executed, when it was seen that the city has a lot of potential and is currently on the rise, just as Indore is.

About the Bhopal-Indore Rapid Rail

Currently, the first phase of Bhopal to Indore rapid rail is expected to be operational by 2023. As part of this, two corridors with a total length of over 27 kilometers will be built to connect both the cities. Apart from that, the Indore line will cover 31 kilometers and connect Bengali Square-Vijay Nagar-Bhawarsala-Airport-Palasia-Bengali Square with one another.

Though that is a long time in the making, it will open up all sorts of possibilities for the future of both these budding cities. This is indeed something that will spur growth on both ends and for a good cause.

Of late, Indore has been on something of a developmental roll. The authorities seem to be doing something right and it is paying off pretty well. The Indore Bhopal Rapid Rail transit system is another project that has us excited about the future of both the cities.
