Cable cars will be integrated with Indore Metro for a robust multi-modal transport system

District Collector has ordained concerned officials to give special attention to developing the Indore metro project as a nexus of public transport. Besides the integration of the cable cars with the metro rakes, plans are underway to link the project ISBT and Indore railway station, bolstering overall connectivity here.

The new collated network will account for the unhindered flow of passengers from one mode of transport to another, seamlessly. The meeting panel further discussed the status and progress of land acquisition for the metro and other related hurdles before project completion.

The AGM of Metro Rail Project, Anil Joshi informed that the department has employed a dedicated team to keep the district authorities in the progress loop. Formulated on the orders of the collector, this committee has to now update the administration regarding the work conducted for cable car integration as well.

Land acquisition of metro depot & power substation

The operational right of the Indore Metro line will stretch from Gandhinagar to MR-10. All work on this route is being conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited. As per reports, the Indore Development Authority is the official supervising unit.

On the other hand, the administration is presently engaged in the demarcation of land in Gandhinagar to constrict the Metro Rail depot in Nainod. As per reports, a resolution has been passed by the Gandhi Nagar Housing Society to transfer the authority of 2.618 hectares of space here to the governance for the depot construction. Physical possession of the land will be awarded soon, facilitating hand over to MP Metro Rail Project, added Additional Collector Ajay Bedekar.

Besides the three plots marked by the administration, all the land in the society will be handed over to the metro project. Additionally, about 2500 square meters of land owned by the IMC will also be transferred to the metro project to install a power substation.
