This IPL 2019 season, we've seen some rather lackluster performance from RCB. Though in one odd match, the team has pulled through and performed well, they haven't seemed to have hit the sweet spot. Now that one of their top players- Coulter-Nile has been injured, they are in for a trouble. To keep the team's potential up, and to replace the pacer, they have signed up with South African fast bowler, Dale Steyn.

The South African 35-year old fast bowler remained unpicked during the IPL 2019 auctions. Now with RCB's Coulter Nile taking the leave, due to a back problem, the South African seems to have a chance to play in the league.

The South African had been with RCB's squad since the inaugural IPL tournament all the way back in 2008. Since then, he had been with the team till 2010 and has taken 27 wickets in 28 matches, making him a promising pick for the RCB squad.

Though Coulter-Nile has an illustrious past in the tournament, his injury doesn't let him perform to the fullest, which is why he, along with the team authorities took a decision to opt out of the league. The pacer was especially useful in death bowling situations and his abilities as a pacer made him a valuable asset to the team. Also, the pacer had missed the entire IPL 2018 tournament owing to another injury and national-team commitments.

Dale Steyn will now play with RCB's squad on April 13, for the first time this season. The team will be pitted against KXIP, a formidable team and perhaps, the addition of the player will turn the tables for Virat Kohli and his team. Though the playoffs are almost over and RCB has lost each of their first games, their spirits remain high and it remains to be seen how the South African will change RCB's fortunes.
