Knocksense: A local content and recommendations platform

Finding transportation back home during festival time is a pain, especially from a city like Delhi. The trains are over cramped, the buses crowded while the flight tickets sky-rocket. Which is why IRCTC (Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation ) has decided to introduce four special trains that run to several cities from Delhi.

The Trains and the Routes

IRCTC has introduced four trains that go on various routes connecting several major cities in the country. These special trains will run only during the Holi time and you can bookthe tickets from the official site. Indian Railways Since, most trains from the city are already booked and full, these trains will ensure that you get to celebrate the festival of colours with your family:

1. New Delhi to Barauni (Bihar)

This train will run from New Delhi and would stop at Muradabad, Bareily, Lucknow, Barabanki, Gonda, Basti, Gorakhpur, Devariya, Siwan, Chhapra, Hajipur, Muzzafarpur and Samastipur, terminating at Barauni.

The train would leave every Tuesday and Friday between 12th March and 22nd March, from New Delhi Railway Station at 7:25 PM, reaching Barauni Junction the next day at 7:45 PM.

From Barauni, The same train will start from Barauni Junction at 9:35 PM every Wednesday and Saturday between 13th March and 23rd March. It will reach New Delhi the very next evening at 10:10 PM.

2. Anand Vihar to Patna

Starting from Anand Vihar Railway Station the train will stop at Ghaziabad, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction (Mughalsarai), Buxar and Arrah, terminating at Patna.

The train would run from Anand Vihar Railway Station in Delhi between
16th March and 23rd March, every Saturday at 12 AM, reaching Patna station at 6 PM the next day in evening.

The same train will leave from Patna at 7:35 PM between 16th March and 23rd March, every Saturday reaching Anand Vihar at 2:20 PM the next afternoon.

3. Nizamuddin to Pune

The train will start from Nizamuddin Railway Station and will stop at Mathura, Kota, Ratlam, Vadodara, Surat, Vapi, Vasai Road, Kalyan and Lonavala, terminating at Pune.

The train would from Nizammudin, every Tuesday at 9:35 PM between 12th March and 26th March reaching Pune Railways Station the next day at 9:25 PM.

The same train will leave for Delhi every Thursday, between 14th March and 28th March. Starting from the Pune station at 5:15 AM in the morning and reaching Nizamuddin the next day at 5:35 AM in the morning.

4. Anand Vihar to Kamakhya

The train will start from Anand Vihar at 11:45 PM every Wednesday, between 13th March and 20th March, reaching Kamakhya station, Guwahati the next afternoon at 2:45 PM.
The same train will be leave Kamakhya station at 5:35 AM every Saturday between 16th March and 23rd March reaching Anand Vihar at 6:15 PM the next evening .

Traffic movement will be affected in Lucknow on Sunday (October 31) on account of a National Unity Day programme at the KD Singh Babu Stadium. The Deputy Commissioner of Traffic Police, Lucknow, Raees Akhtar has released an order to announce all restricted routes and alternate diversions applicable here. Due to the rehearsals of the event, the traffic movement was affected today also.

Surgery & casualty wards to soon become functional at South Goa District Hospital

Outpatient departments (OPDs) are already operational at the new South Goa District Hospital.

The multi-storied South Goa District Hospital (SGDH) is being upgraded with new facilities to lessen the load off older hospitals and health institutes. As per reports, the new hospital is likely to house the surgery and casualty departments soon in a bid to clear space at the Hospicio Hospital. Earlier also, all outpatient departments (OPDs) were relocated to the spacious new SGDH for the same reason.

Mumbai local trains to operate at 100% capacity from today!

The suburban train services were suspended on March 22, 2020 on account of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

After running restricted operations for over a year, Mumbai's local train services are all set to resume with 100% seating capacity from today. This is being done in order to account for the increased flow of commuters on the trains. Till now, the Central and Western Railways had been operating with 1,702 and 1,304 services respectively, which account for 95.75% of their total capacity. Today onwards, this number will go up to 1,774 in the CR division and 1,367 in WR, thus making complete use of the total capacity on the two lines.

The Lucknow centre of Sports Authority of India has set up a new weightlifting hall in the city, in order to give a boost to the sport. Spread over 15,000 square meters, this circular building has ample space to allow 100 players to practice at a single time. Pegged to be the largest in India, this hall is equipped with 26 platforms and machines worth 1.5 crores. These platforms can also be increased in number, as per need.
