Season 2 of the Indus Valley International Film Festival (IVIFF), powered by SAFACH (South Asia Forum for Art & Creative Heritage) set off in motion yesterday, giving cinephiles a taste of the best from the industry. IVIFF is South Asia's first-ever borderless digital film festival and it will go on till the 10th of October, much to our delight. The fest is a celebration of the art of cinema and this season, participants will get to indulge in film screenings, workshops, masterclasses, interaction with celebrities, concerts, an award ceremony and so on. Today, they're screening 4 films which have been much-awaited and stalwarts from the film fraternity from all across the country and beyond, are gonna be online to watch the magic brew on screen.

Hundred Rupees by TR Gaudel at 3 PM (IST)

Hundred Rupees directed by TR Gaudel, is a short film from Nepal and the plot revolves around a mother-daughter duo and widespread sexual harassment in our society. It speaks of how education is a must for the safety of the future generations!

Dance of Joy by Aparajita Ghosh at 3 PM (IST)

Dance of Joy is a documentary by director Aparajita Ghosh and it showcases 'Rabindra Nritya' which is a unique dance forms- a blend of other dance styles like Manipuri, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kabuki, Kandi and so on. If you're into the artform of dance, then this is a must-watch!

Kadakh by Rajat Kapoor at 5 PM (IST)

Kadakh by Rajat Kapoor will be premiering today and it is dramedy-thriller which deals with an extra-marital love-affair and a death at the end. This film is of 1 hour and 48 mins and it promises to be enveloped in all the necessary ingredients of a brilliant creation on screen.

Chitrakut by Himanshu Malik at 8 PM (IST)

The 2nd day of the fest will conclude with Chitrakut, film by director Himanshu Malik, which revolves around the lives of 5 people, their journey of change and metamorphosis as they search for love and companionship. It falls under the category of drama and the duration will be of 2 hours and 5 minutes.

All the 4 screenings will be wrapped with interactions and this will be a brilliant opportunity for cinephiles to network, seek collaborations, co-produce and rise together in this sector. IVIFF is truly combining the spirit of cinema from major regions, like no other!

UP's new export policy to boost the market potential of Lucknow & other districts

The state's contribution to the Indian exports is only at 4.55% per annum.

The Uttar Pradesh government is currently aiming to achieve a one-trillion-dollar state economy by drafting a new export policy to encourage such an endeavor, backed by functional businesses in the state. The new policy will be chalked to increase the exports from the present 1.20 lakh crores to 3 lakh crores annually, by extending several incentives to the exporters in Uttar Pradesh. In order to ensure that the export targets are met, the Uttar Pradesh governement is planning to focus on sectors with high potential.

3 students from Indore have devised a UV disinfectant which works on edible items too

This UV disinfectant has already been tested and permitted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore.

The need of the hour today, is sanitization and cleanliness because that's the only possible way to combat this contagious virus. So keeping this in mind, three students from Indore, Vansh Boradia, Narayan Pharkya and Priyanshu Airen, have prepared an Ultraviolet (UV) disinfectant, that works even on edible items. This UV device is exclusive and is termed as better than others as it can sanitize edible items; a feature which is missing in the others. This UV disinfectant has already been tested and permitted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore, as stated by the pupils.

Lucknow University to grant admission to all candidates, in these 2 Masters programmes

The University of Lucknow has decided to grant admissions to candidates applying for Masters in Ancient Indian History and Masters in Yogic Sciences, irrespective of their performance in the entrance test. State Organ Tissue Transplant Organisation to come up at SGPGIMS in Lucknow

Along with government institutions, the Uttar Pradesh SOTTO will also bring private hospitals under its umbrella.

The UP government has decided to set up the State Organ Tissue Transplant Organisation (SOTTO), a state-level body that will advance the process of organ transplant like never before, in the capital city. According to Additional Chief Secretary, Medical Education, "SOTTO that will come up at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), aims to formalize the system of organ and tissue procurement and its distribution for transplantation." The ACS further added that the body would also work to train the required manpower and towards the promotion of cadaveric (deceased) organ and tissue donation, which will make it convenient for patients who are in need.
