The online application for the Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship for Academic Excellence is all set to start from October 22, 2021.
Fueling the dreams of students in Rajasthan, the state government has decided to award scholarships to 200 pupils, wishing to complete their higher studies in reputed institutes abroad. The online application for the Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship for Academic Excellence is all set to start from October 22, 2021. Under the ambit of the scholarship, students can now choose any of the 50 renowned institutes in the world including Oxford, Harvard and Stanford to pursue higher education.
Travel charges, tuition fee & other charges to be covered
Through this scholarship, students will be able to get financial assistance for their bachelor's, master's, Ph.D. or post-doctoral degrees abroad. Reportedly, travel expenses, tuition fees and all the other expenses of the beneficiaries will be covered under this scholarship.
Out of the 200 scholarships to be awarded every year, 60 will be reserved for female students, reportedly. Further, officials remarked that the applicants must make sure that they gain entry into their preferred universities first before applying for this scholarship. Notably, this scheme will first prioritise students with an annual family income of ₹8 lakh and below.
All the information regarding the scholarship and its process is available on the official website of the Rajasthan government. As per officials, the applications will also be selected on the portal itself. In case of more than 200 applications, scholarships will be awarded via a lottery system.

Purportedly, 150 out of the 200 seats have been dedicated to Humanities, Social Science, Agriculture and Forest Science, Nature and Environmental Science and Law. Additionally, 25 seats have been allotted for students willing to study Management and Business Administration and Economics and Finance.
Apart from this, 25 seats have been assigned to those interested in studying Pure Science and Public Health. In case of vacant slots in these streams, 15 seats might be issued to students opting for Engineering and Related Sciences and Medicine and Applied Sciences.
With this initiative, the state government aims to inspire and motivate young students for dreaming big and striving towards those aspirations. Besides, it is expected that the scheme will advantage those financially deprived students whose academic journeys are otherwise hampered by economic restraints.
