In a bid to make the commute easier for candidates appearing for the REET exam on September 26, the university examinations in Rajasthan have been deferred from September 25 to 27. In line with the same, the Traders’ Associations in Jaipur has also announced a lockdown of local markets on Sunday. Reportedly, over 20 lakh aspirants are expected to appear for the Rajasthan Eligibility Exam for Teachers (REET), which will be held across 4,153 centres in the state.
Only essential shops will be operational on Sunday

Universities across the state have been requested to decide a date to schedule the postponed examinations. Around 20,000 varsity students have been affected by the decision and a final call is essential to give clarity to this lot.
Besides them, the city will also shutter down to ensure no traffic congestion in the city on the day of the exam. All markets will be closed on Sunday. Only shops selling essential commodities like vegetables, dairy, medical and groceries are exempted from this protocol.

Going by reports, the candidates will be provided free travel in general and semi-deluxe buses which will be operational from September 22 to October 9. Candidates will have to produce their exam passes to avail the complimentary facility.
Connecting buses will also be available in case of a scarcity of buses going to a single destination. Unfortunately, the provision is not applicable for deluxe, sleeper and AC or luxury buses.
