Are you a fitness freak and someone who deeply cares about the environment? Do you think that running can make a difference? Well, now it can. Plogging is a Swedish trend where people jog about in circuits and pick up garbage they find along the way. This trend is now coming to Delhi and it's the perfect time to get your running shoes out along with garbage bags. On October 02, 2019, you can be a part of this one-of-a-kind clean up initiative in Delhi.

What's Plogging?

'Plog' literally translating to 'pick up', is something that is taking the world by storm. What initially started out in Sweden as a hobby of sorts has reaped immense results across the globe. Now, India Plog Run is organizing an event based on the same concept on a massive scale in Delhi.

What's the update?

In Delhi, almost 35 areas will be covered under this initiative. Basically, the goal is to clean up the places, do away with garbage on the side of the roads and from other places where it doesn't belong, serving a two fold purpose- to clean up and acting as a fitness drive; plogging is something that we all should take up.

Which areas in Delhi are covered?

Delhi is a massive city and it would be impossible for joggers to cover the entire area of the city. Owing to this, there are 35- 40 places in Delhi which will be cleaned up as a part of this initiative. Prominent areas under the hood of the initiative include Greater Kailash, Rajendra Nagar, Lodhi Colony, Rohini, Karol Bagh, Dwarka, Daryaganj, Hauz Khas, RK Puram, Pitampura, Mahipalpur, Okhla and Paschim Vihar.

We can safely say that these areas are bound to become a whole lot cleaner the next time you visit them- and that's all because of you Delhiites!

Knock Knock

At any rate, we're excited for such an interesting concept to hit the streets of Delhi. In the future, we're hoping that an initiative like this spreads on a greater scale than ever before to help transform the city into something new. India's biggest plogging run is slated to kick off on October 02, 2019. In case you're interested, be sure to register here.
