People in Lucknow have been waiting to watch India play on their home-ground for quite some time now. The city saw its first international match (in a long time) in the form of India v/s West Indies way back in 2018 and it seems that we'll have to wait for another eight months before we get to see India play again.

So if you're disheartened by India's loss in the international cricket world cup, cheer up, we have some good news for you. The next international match for the Bhartiya Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee International Cricket Stadium in Lucknow is set to be held in March!

The match will be played between India and South Africa and it is only eight months away. The 50 over, one-day international (ODI) match between India and South Africa would be held in Lucknow on Sunday, 15th March 2020. We are already marking the date with red because who would want to miss the second international match in Lucknow!

South Africa's tour of India

For its tour in India, the South African team will be taking part in three sets of three international matches, in T20, Test and ODI format. The T20 matches would be held in September 2019, in Dharamsala, Mohali and Bengaluru, while the matches in test format will be held in October, in Vishakhapatnam, Ranchi and Pune.

The South African team will then leave India after these series of matches only to return in 2020 for the ODIs. Of the aforementioned matches, the first one day international would be held in Dharamsala, the second in Lucknow and the third one in Kolkata.

Lucknow will host the pivotal second match for the ODI series between India and South Africa and the news instantly lifts our word-cup-dampen spirits. We cannot wait to watch Virat's aggressive batting and Bhuvaneshwar's incomparable bowling skills live, in action. So, mark the dates, because March is going to be epic!
