Uttar Pradesh has taken giant leaps in developing and reforming its transportation in the recent decade. After Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport and Varanasi Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, three more international airports are coming up in Kushinagar, Noida and Ayodhya. Apart from becoming the first state in India to host the maximum number of international airports, UP is also the first state to provide metro rail connectivity in maximum cities.
Upcoming airports to boost trade & tourism
The international airport in Kushinagar is almost complete and shall soon become a lynchpin in travels directed towards the Buddhist Circuit. Further, the upcoming Jewar Green Field International Airport in Noida and an international airport in Ayodhya shall provide momentum to foreign trade and travel across the state. Once these airports start functioning, Uttar Pradesh will become the only state in the country to have five international airports.
Metro rail services across UP
Uttar Pradesh has also reserved its spot as the first state in India to equip the maximum number of its cities with metro rail services. While these services are already functional in Noida, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida and Lucknow, metro rails are all set to run in Agra and Kanpur in the coming months. It is also being reported that metro services are on the cards for Gorakhpur city as well. Moreover, rapid rail will soon be running between Delhi and Meerut.
