These organisations are ensuring easier and happier lives for animals through umpteen initiatives.
"He who feeds a hungry animal feeds his own soul", said Charlie Chaplin and his words have become the driving force for some samaritans working for animal welfare in Lucknow. Motivated by their innate will to serve the diverse inhabitants of our combined ecosystem, these altruistic individuals have redefined the meaning of compassion and kindness. So here are the 5 welfare collectives, that are ensuring easier and happier lives for animals through umpteen initiatives!
Jeev Basera ( SPCA LUCKNOW )
Located in New Hyderabad, Jeev Basera has been promoting animal well-being in Lucknow for the last 3 years with its team of about 10 individuals. They live by the motto of helping those who are in need and are not able to ask for help. While a part of Jeev Basera's human force comprises corporate employees who lend a helping hand whenever they get time, it also has a group of full-time dedicated individuals.
With their rescue teams and special cow shelters, Dhyaan works to aid a range of animals in the city. Remarkably, this organisation is run entirely by a group of 5 to 6 women. With the help of Nagar Nigam's Dr. Shyam Dubey, Rupali Saha and her team of Era, Aparna, Archana and Poonam assure on spot rescue to cows, dogs and other strays.
Nawabi Tails Rescue
Other than rescuing dogs and other strays, Nawabi Tails Rescue has been involved in a list of focused projects, like the anti-rabies vaccination drives. Led by a qualified surgeon, this organisation has shouldered the responsibility of extending its assistance to as many animals as possible. In a bid to ensure a safe home for the local dogs, they promote the idea of adopting native breeds.
People For Animals Lucknow - PFA Lucknow
People for Animals tries has been doing its bit by providing immediate medical assistance to animals all across Lucknow, for quite some time now. In case of a serious injury, the team brings them back to Budheshwar, Mohan Road for surgery. Naveen, an animal activist along with his team of 20 people has been helping strays for over 3 years through this venture.
KPC Hospital situated in Gomti Nagar Extension has about 8-10 members who work on injured strays and treat them at no cost. Dr. Najendra Gupta, Archana, Shubham and their peers treat the strays and foster them till they become completely well. The group has helped save lives of many strays in the past few years.
While the aforesaid ventures are leaving no stone unturned to support the strays, there are multiple similar collectives in the city that are equally committed to this goal. Besides contributing to the cause, they motivate other people to take up equivalent activities. If you know about any such organisation, do share with us in the comments below!
