Focusing on talent!

The very successful run of Amity University's 'Colours of Uttar Pradesh' has 'exposed' the talent and skill of student photographers across the state. This platform gave a chance to budding photographers to try their hand at visual arts and an overwhelming surge of 300 entries was registered for the competition. Around 75 of these were shortlisted by Ms Arpita Singh, faculty of Amity School of Communication and were presented before the eminent photojournalist, Mr Manoj Chhabra for the final review.

Second Special Mention

Saanvi Singh, Seth M. R. Jaipuria School

A list of 'Top 5 Photographers' was announced by Amity Lucknow and winners were awarded with amazing cash prizes and an opportunity to display their stills at different locations in the city. The university felicitated ₹5,000 to the title winner, ₹3,000 and ₹2000 to the first and second runners up, respectively. A cash prize of ₹1,000 each, were awarded to the two special mentions as well.

Powered by YPay, the event included stakeholders such as Camcook, Bigg Daddy, Imperiumx Francorp, along with Knocksense and Fever FM, which only added marvel and splendour to this online event. Competitions like these open new avenues to gauze the talent and skill among the youth, giving them a chance to put forward their best step, into a future full of possibilities.

Lowest tally of daily COVID cases recorded in Maharashtra in 17 months

Reportedly, a dozen districts across Maharashtra recorded zero cases of coronavirus infections.

Maharashtra has witnessed a dip in daily fresh cases in a long while, with 1,485 new instances reported on Monday. The state has managed to mark the lowest daily count and the total tally now stands at 65,93,182. Moreover, as per reports, about a dozen districts and a few municipal corporations across the state marked zero fresh cases on Monday.

Witnessing a sharp decline in the number of COVID cases in the state, the Government of Uttar Pradesh has decided to call off the existing pandemic-mandated night curfew in all districts including Lucknow. In order to trap and tackle the spread of Coronavirus infection, a night curfew from 11 PM to 6 AM had been active for a long time now. As per reports, the relaxation order issued by the administration today, is effective immediately.

Cultre, supported by Start-up Innovation and Incubation Centre (SIIC), an IIT-Kanpur incubatee, is all set to launch its second Heritage Olympiad on November 14. First in UP, Kanpur Metro to use 6 Tunnel Boring Machines together to pace up construction work

TBMs from Lucknow & Turkey will be used to construct 6 tunnels of the Kanpur Metro corridor.

Moving the Kanpur Metro construction at a fast pace, the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) has decided to focus on the underground tunnel work here. This move has come after the installation of the underground metro station about 21 meters below the ground, read reports. For this, Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) will be deployed in the city to ensure that the underground route stretches at the same level, throughout. Notably, this is the first time in Uttar Pradesh when 6 TBMs will be used simultaneously to complete the construction within the slated deadline.

UPSRTC to launch new inter-city Janrath Buses in Lucknow to cater to the festive season rush

The buses will connect Lucknow to 6 other cities including- Delhi, Varanasi, Jaipur, Muzaffarpur, Dehradun, and Gorakhpur.

The Transport Department in Lucknow is going to run 125 air-conditioned buses on major routes in the city to ease travel during the festive season rush. Known as 'Janrath Buses', these buses will provide a cheaper travel alternative as compared to the high-end luxury Volvo and Scania buses. The buses will connect Lucknow to 6 other cities including- Delhi, Varanasi, Jaipur, Muzaffarpur, Dehradun, and Gorakhpur.
