Curfew eases in Lucknow, Kanpur & other UP districts today; Check detailed guidelines here

The night curfew will stretch from 9 PM to 7 AM from today.

In view of the bettering conditions of the COVID pandemic, all districts in UP have been granted graded relief, effective from today; June 21. The 'unlock' decision has been enforced by the authority of a circular, issued by the Chief Secretary of State late on Saturday evening. These relaxations will cut short on the night curfew timings and ease the operations of restaurants, street food shops, parks, with some restrictions.

​What are the guidelines regarding the opening of markets and shops?

All shops and markets, outside containment zones, will be permitted to operate from 7 AM to 9 PM on all weekdays A weekend curfew will extend through Saturday and Sunday here. During this closure, all urban and rural areas will run focused drives for cleanliness, sanitisation and fogging.

​What are the precautions for reopening public & private offices?

All government offices and departments will operate at full capacity in compliance with all pandemic preventive protocols. It will be imperative to set up a COVID helpdesk at all public offices.

Private companies will also have to comply with the aforementioned norms of setting up a helpdesk. Besides this, such companies have been ordained to encourage the work-from-home model.

​What are the COVID protocols for restaurants, dine-ins & roadside eateries?

Restaurants and other dine-in spaces outside containment zones, can operate from 7 AM to 9 PM at 50% seating capacity. These eateries too, will be open for 5 days a week, from Monday to Friday.

A COVID-19 helpdesk will be set up at the entry point of all restaurants and eateries. These will have the provision of an infrared thermometer along with an oximeter and sanitisers to ensure the screening of customers.

An alternate seating arrangement will be followed here to maintain a safe social distance between people. A 'Do Not Sit' marking will be placed in between two chairs to ensure the guideline.

Sweet shops, fast food joints and street food stalls will also be allowed to open. People will be permitted to eat here- while standing or sitting- in compliance with COVID norms.

What are the guidelines for reopening malls?

All malls, outside containment zones, will be permitted to open from Monday to Friday. All shops and restaurants here will resume operations with strict compliance with COVID protocols.

A COVID helpdesk, with an infrared thermometer, plus an oximeter and sanitisers, will be set up at the entry points in malls. Social distancing at all shops and restaurants inside malls needs to be ensured. A 'Do Not Sit' marking will be placed at every alternate seat at the food joints in malls as well.

What are the guidelines for travel and transport?

Railway stations, airports and roadways bus stations will have to follow all COVID related protocols, with strictness. Travellers will be screened with the help of Rapid Antigen Tests at these points and symptomatic people will be referred to hospitals. COVID helpdesks and testing facilities will be stationed here, accordingly.

Two people will be allowed to travel in two-wheelers, with the imperative of helmet, mask and face cover. Meanwhile, a maximum of 2 people along with the driver in 3-wheeler autorickshaws and battery-operated e-rickshaws will be permitted. On the same lines, only 4 people will be allowed in 4 wheelers.

What are the orders regarding conducting events & guest list restrictions?

At one time, only 50 people will be allowed at any enclosed or open venue. All guests will have to adhere to listed pandemic protocols along with other cautionary guidelines. A COVID-19 helpdesk needs to arranged at the entry points of the venue.

Seats for guests at all programmes and events must be distanced at least 6 feet. All restrooms and toilets at these venues need to sanitised and cleaned to promote prime standards of hygiene. Event organisers or hosts have to take responsibility for the aforementioned guidelines.

What all is closed?

Schools, colleges and other educational institutes will remain closed. The medium of online classes can be used to continue the classes and coaching of middle school and senior class students.

-It may be noted that senior school teachers, workers and administrative staffers will be permitted to visit schools. Accordingly, school authorities have to seek prior permission from concerned officials.

Cinema halls, stadiums, swimming pools and gyms have not been permitted to open until further orders.
All large events or processions are completely prohibited until further orders. Police patrols will also ensure that crowds do not gather at one place by proper traffic regulations.

Miscellaneous orders

Monuments under the Archeological Department, zoological gardens, parks and garden will be allowed to open at pre-decided hours. No more than 50 people will be allowed to accumulate at dharamshalas at one point. Such centres in containment zones will not be allowed to open.

Unlock order to be withdrawn if district records over 500 total cases

Besides these guidelines, a temporary public address system will be used to spread awareness about the coronavirus infection and ways to control it, The general public will be expected to follow these restrictions completely.

At the district level, DMs will have to convene daily meetings of the medical department at the Integrated COVID Command Centre to thoroughly monitor the on-ground situation. Besides this, the Police Commissioner, DM, senior police officers and Dial 112 officers have been tasked to surveil the implementation of COVID guidelines in containment zones.

The state order warned that if any district records over an aggregate of 500 cases, the region's unlock status will be revoked and all relaxations will be withdrawn. Consequently, all activities will fall under the curfew restriction again, the orders of which will be issued, in due course.
